From hereon in all new tyres will carry an AdvanZtech EV ready sidewall logo will appear on selected sizes of the UHP and HP tyres, from 16” through to 21”, signifying their correct selection for internal combustion engine (ICE), mild and plug-in hybrid (MHEV and PHEV) and battery electric (BEV) vehicles.
The Giti brand’s EV Ready strategy was created using AdvanZtech, the manufacturer’s globally-integrated, company-wide R&D system.
The technology is designed to create premium-level tyres which address the key areas of the driving experience, namely: noise and comfort; green and energy efficient; safety; quality and endurance, control and smart-tech.
Giti engineers have ensured that GitiSportS2 and GitiSynergyH2 continue to achieve low rolling resistance for maximum range while retaining good grip on wet surfaces and delivering a quiet and comfortable ride across all drivetrains.
The project was led by Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany.
Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Deputy General Manager for PCR, SUV, Light Truck for Giti Tire (Europe), said: “EV ready tyres are typically used across ICE, MHEV, PHEV and BEV vehicles, delivering a best-of-both-worlds solution while ensuring that dealers’ stock management is facilitated and end-users are purchasing a tyre that is optimised for their vehicle.
“Importantly they are also an integral element of Giti Tire’s overall strategy to create more sustainable and environmentally friendly tyres.”
