Giti Tire Motorsport celebrates successful BTRC season with top three finish

Giti Tire Motorsport and Team Oliver Racing enjoyed another successful season in the British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) with Stuart Oliver securing a top three finish in the standings.

The manufacturer also maintained its role as Official Partner and Exclusive Tyre Supplier for 2023 with
all trucks racing on the Giti Race-Tuned v1 competition truck tyres in size 315/70R22.5.

The season consisted of seven meetings with five races at each circuit, and Stuart Oliver in his fully Giti
liveried bonneted VOLVO VNL race-prepared truck achieved 17 podium finishes and amassed 368
points, 69 behind this year’s champion Ryan Smith.

Michael Oliver, in the Giti branded MAN TGX 18.480, also performed well over the season and finished
eighth in the championship with 267 points.

A season highlight was Convoy in the Park at Donington Park in August, when Giti Tire welcomed over
750 guests from across the world onto their stand and Honda TT legend John McGuinness MBE proved
to be a star attraction driving in his first ever truck races.

The racing was seen by huge crowds as the event continues to attract truck and racing lovers with a
range of impressive truck, manufacturer and exhibitor displays throughout the venue plus stunt shows,
live music and children’s entertainment.

This year’s Giti Tire Motorsport activity has been underpinned with its co-branding agreement as global
automotive tyre partner of Sparco®, which is based upon the companies’ shared philosophies and
values of ‘racing, performance, research and development and continuous safety.”

Tony McHugh, TBR Sales and Marketing Director UK at Giti Tire, said: “This is the fifth year we have
sponsored Team Oliver Racing and the second as Exclusive Tyre Supplier for the BTRC, and through
this time we have seen the popularity of competition truck racing grow-and-grow which makes it a very
worthwhile investment.

“The performance of the Giti Race-Tuned v1 tyres continues to be praised by all the teams and
throughout the season we have seen them excel in wet and dry conditions. To endure such demanding
performance requirements reaffirms both our design and manufacturing excellence, and the secondary
interest it generates in our truck and bus portfolio is apparent at every race.”
