Goodyear announces the continuation of its title sponsorship and role as the exclusive tire supplier for the FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) for the 2025-2027 seasons. The championship will continue to be known as the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, underscoring Goodyear’s long-standing dedication to delivering excellent performance in motorsport.
A legacy in truck motorsport
With a rich heritage dating back to 2003, Goodyear has been a key player in truck racing as the racing tires supplier. Drawing on over 20 years of experience in the series, the company has consistently pushed the boundaries of tire technology, playing an important part in elevating truck racing to new heights.
The Goodyear FIA ETRC brings together some of the most iconic race circuits in Europe, attracting thousands of spectators and industry stakeholders eager to witness high-performance truck racing. With renewed sponsorship, the 2025-2027 seasons promise to deliver thrilling truck racing action and reinforces Goodyear’s commitment to motorsport, where its innovations in tire technology are rigorously tested and refined. Additionally, the Goodyear FIA ETRC’s sustainability efforts have earned significant recognition, climbing from 16th to 13th place in the latest Sustainable Championships Index™.[1] This improvement underscores the championship’s dedication to promoting sustainable practices and driving positive change within the industry.
“Goodyear’s extended partnership with the FIA ETRC underscores our two-decade commitment to advancing truck racing. It is a platform to showcase advancements of tire technology in durability, efficiency, and sustainability in most demanding conditions. We are proud to continue supporting the championship, its teams, and its fans. The insights we gain from this high-performance environment drive innovation in our commercial tires, translating into products that help transport fleets achieve their business goals and stay competitive,” said Maciej Szymański, Marketing Director, Commercial EMEA, Goodyear.
Georg Fuchs, Managing Director of the European Truck Racing Association (ETRA), commented: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Goodyear for another three years. Together, we have worked to elevate the FIA ETRC not only as a motorsport series but also as a platform for sustainability and technological innovation. This extension underlines our shared vision for a more sustainable future in truck racing and the road haulage industry.”
Sustainability commitment
Sustainability will remain an important focus for both Goodyear and the European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC), which recently earned the FIA’s three-star environmental accreditation.[2] This recognition highlights the series’ efforts to reduce environmental impact, including the use of 100% renewable HVO biofuel since 2021. Truck racing tires from the championship are integrated into a sustainable lifecycle through retreading, transforming them into standard on-road Goodyear tires for transportation fleets. This process reduces resource consumption and waste, aligning with the championship’s dedication to environmental responsibility.
Goodyear shares this commitment, also achieving the top three-star rating in the FIA Environmental Accreditation framework. Apart from the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, the certification covers the motorsport programmes run by Goodyear Racing EMEA, including the brand’s presence in the FIA World Endurance Championship, 24 Hours of Le Mans and European Le Mans Series.[3]
Next-generation truck racing tire
As part of its continued partnership, Goodyear introduced a new truck racing tire in 2024[4], developed at its Innovation Center in Luxembourg. The new tire enhances grip, durability, and performance in both wet and dry conditions, compared to its predecessor. After its first season of use, the tire has delivered solid support to the teams, proving its ability to perform reliably across a variety of track conditions and, thanks to better durability, reducing the overall number of tires used in the Championship. These innovations not only set new racing benchmarks but also reflect the same reliability and efficiency Goodyear strives to provides to fleets across Europe.
A broad motorsport presence
Goodyear’s dedication to motorsport extends far beyond truck racing. For the 2025 season, the brand continues as the exclusive tire supplier for the LMP2 category in both the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as for all teams competing in the LMGT3 category of ELMS and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Furthermore, Goodyear has recently been named the Official Title Sponsor of the 2025 Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone, further strengthening its commitment to innovation and excellence in motorsport across multiple disciplines.
Important stop for Goodyear’s Drive Results Tour
The Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) will again play a vital role in Goodyear’s Drive Results Tour. Visitors from transport fleets will be able to experience Goodyear Total Mobility end-to-end solutions firsthand and see how premium tires and advanced tire monitoring technologies, translates from the track to real-world fleet operations.
