In its final assessment the tyre was described as being safe on wet and dry roads, delivering excellent
aquaplaning resistance and a good value for money ratio.
The 2023 assessment was undertaken on a BMW 3 Series on size 224/45R18 with tests included wet
braking, wet handling, wet circles, straight aquaplaning, dry braking, dry handling and, from an
environmental perspective, noise, rolling resistance and price.
Over 50 tyres took part the initial test phase with 20 going through to the final rounds and more rigorous
analysis. The GT Radial SportActive 2 finished among and in many cases above the leading patterns of
premium manufacturers.
Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Senior Product Manager PCR, SUV, Light Truck for Giti Tire (Europe), said: “We’re
incredibly proud that the testers at Auto Bild have awarded our GT Radial SportActive 2 with their ‘good’
rating and fourth position overall.
“This acknowledgement underlines the development that we have invested in the latest product portfolio,
resulting in the current generation of GT Radial SportActive 2 and the GT Radial FE2, which are quite
simply excellent performing tyres at the right price point in the growing mid-market tyre segment.”
The GT Radial SportActive 2 is available in 42 passenger car and SUV sizes with rims ranging from
16-21”, section widths from 195-295, series sizes from 35-55 and speed indices from V-Y.
Across all sizes the GT Radial SportActive 2 has maintained its A label for wet grip with B-D for rolling
resistance. The noise level also remains at 69db.
The tyre was designed and engineered at Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in
Hannover, Germany, where the project scope was to deliver driving pleasure with precision control,
superb wet and dry grip and long lasting mileage.
