The tyre recently received a ‘good’ rating in the Autobild Allroad 2024 winter tyre test with the publication noting good traction and lateral stability on snowy surfaces, good aquaplaning safety reserves and a low ride noise.
This latest test is reinforced by last year’s SportAuto test where the tyre also received a ‘good’ rating, as well as achieving a successful ranking among the top 15 best winter tyres, from an initial selection of 55, in the 2024 Autobild Winter Tyre Super Test.
Originally launched in August 2021, the tyre delivers improved dry dynamics, wet braking and aquaplaning resistance, all while maintaining the first generation’s excellent snow and ice grip and traction.
Designed using AdvanZtech, the Giti Tire’s globally-integrated, company-wide R&D system, the manufacturer’s key targets for the tyre were a quiet and comfortable ride, safety without worry and precise control.
The GitiWinterW2 was designed and engineered at Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany with testing at the company’s MIRA facility in the UK, Germany, Idiada in Spain and Finland.
