Ford has selected Goodyear’s Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 235/40 R18 956 XL – a benchmark for UHP tyres – for its new Ford Focus ST.
With Goodyear’s revolutionary ActiveBraking Technology, the Eagle F1 A2 increases the road contact when braking, delivering three metres shorter braking on wet roads and two metres shorter on dry roads. It also provides increased mileage and reduced rolling resistance, cutting fuel costs and CO2 emissions.
The third generation of Focus ST has been completely redesigned around a new athletic shape. This sporty car focuses on safety while providing a quiet interior. Consumer media reviews have praised the new Focus ST as’ a winning combination between a car for the daily driver as well as a performance machine’.
Hugues Despres, Brand Director EMEA at Goodyear, commented: “Both the Focus ST and our Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 build on a heritage of quality and safety.
“That’s why we developed the ActiveBraking technology, which increases tyre contact with the road as the driver brakes. It delivers shorter braking distances when it matters most. ”
Since Goodyear launched its Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 in 2011, it has become one of the company’s most successful products in both OEM and replacement markets.
